About Us

The Greater Houston Senior Football Showcase is a FREE one-day nonprofit event started by former high school Coach Phil Camp and Academic Adviser Coby Rhoden in 2009.  The Showcase is for high school seniors  to display their skills to Division II, III and NAIA football programs. Coach Camp and Mr. Rhoden believe that the opportunity of playing college football while earning a college degree has a profound effect on changing young peoples’ lives.

The next Showcase will be held Saturday, February 15, 2020 at the Texans Methodist Training Center, across from NRG Stadium). It will feature athletes from all over Texas and bring together outstanding educational institutions in Division II, III and NAIA programs from across the country. The Showcase will be organized and managed by area high school football coaches and former NFL Alumni. Players will showcase their skills during a series of tests and drills that will best display each player’s talent at their respective positions. Following the activities, players and colleges/universities will meet to discuss scholarship and financial aid opportunities for the participating athletes. Admission will be restricted to the athletes, participating coaches and volunteers, visiting high school and college/university coaches and/or administrators, and the media.

College Coaches will be provided a hotel room for Friday, Feb 14th, 2020, and we will have a meet and greet dinner as we have in the past, with breakfast at the hotel, and lunch at the site. Register at www.ghsfs.org

How it works

Student athletes from across Texas will register online prior to the Showcase. They must be a graduating high school senior and have not accepted a scholarship offer from a Division I football program. In addition, they must meet one of the three following qualifications:

· Have a 2.5 GPA or higher

· Have an SAT score of 970 (Math and Critical Reading only) or higher

· Have an ACT of 18 or higher.

All College Coaches will receive a booklet at the hotel Friday night, or at the meet and greet. We will have booklets at the coach’s check-in table in the Training Center. Booklets will have name, addresses, phone numbers, GPA, ACT/SAT Scores and HUDL Links. After you register, please email Coach Camp at pcamp1@ghsfs.org with the names of the coaches who will be attending so we can have their badges and table ready for when they check in.

All Division II, III, and NAIA athletic directors and head football coaches are invited to attend. There will be ample time for coaches to view the athletes in drills and to talk to them individually about their respective football programs. Staff from the admissions and financial aid departments are encouraged to attend as well.

  • Key reminders for all participants and parents:
  • · No parent participation will be allowed at the Showcase
  • · No kicking drills will be run during the event
  • · Students must provide their own transportation to and from the Methodist Training Center
  • · Students are responsible to bring two pairs of shoes (football shoes and running shoes)
  • · Water will be provided. Please bring your own snacks or lunch.
